Junk food-right or privilege?
The Government should definitely control how much junk food people eat. I think if we listened to them we could be the healthiest country around. Considering that 54.3% of Americans (12 and over) are overweight, obviously we need help. We should be happy that we have such a nice Government that cares about our health. Would you rather be inactive and tired or thin and healthy? If people disagree, they have no one more to thank than themselves. The Government gave us the privilege of choosing what we eat, and we took it for granted and got fat and lazy. In some ways, we deserve to be told what to eat.

The Government should not control people's food intake because they know the risk and the whole USA will not be affected by one person's decision. Places like Mc Donald's include the calorie amount on their menu. People have the right to decide whether they want to eat the food or something healthier. The Declaration of Independence states that we have the right to make our own personal decisions. If the government tries to control what we eat, they will be dishonoring the Declaration and that is against the law. This is an opinionated subject so people should be allowed to make their own decisions. This will keep everyone happy.

Get the facts on bullying
By Lillian Murdy
Bullying is disgusting. People are easily hurt by words more easily than you would think. You need to understand no matter what--teasing, physical bullying, and emotional bullying are not okay. Let's take a look at these different kinds of bullying and see the outcomes of all of them.
First, start out with teasing. Teasing friends can seem harmless but, it can and will hurt their feelings. Even if they laugh they may be upset about it. Although it may seem like teasing or bullying, taking someone's hat and tossing it over him so he can't reach it is hurtful. Keep in mind, teasing a friend for his/her weight, appearance, or intelligence may make him uncomfortable and if you continue with teasing a friend it will end with you losing a friend.
Next, take physical bullying. This is when students engage in physical fights, or situations that make a person feel bad and uncomfortable. Fighting is an obvious way to get severely injured and put people in dangerous situations. For physical bullying you can get arrested, suspended, and maybe even get sued or go to court if the victim has been injured badly. Another type of physical bullying is sexual harassment in which the bully would touch a person inappropriately.
Finally, look at emotional bullying. This is when someone says something that offends someone else; this lowers self esteem, and makes him sad or depressed. An example is calling someone 'stupid, or 'gay'. Bullying is not okay, ever! Here are some tips for dealing with bullying: If you are being bullied, tell an adult, avoid the bully and stay with your friends, don't entertain bullies, walk away. What if you see someone being bullied? Stand up for him or her and get an adult, become his or her friend, encourage him or her to tell someone if he is afraid.
