Book Review: Zephyr the West Wind
By Phoebe Charpentier
This is a great book for everyone in middle and high school. By the cover of the book it might look like it is meant only for boys, but this is also a great book for girls. It begins strong and the reader starts to feel for Zephyr and the world in which he grew up. Scenes are easy to imagine with all the description Tolson uses. An inside tip is to read the “letter,” before Chapter One, after finishing the book.
Author RJ Tolson is an astonishing student, author, humanitarian, and CEO. At only nineteen years old, he shows people that our generation is worth more than making life easier so that we can be lazier. Tolson believes that everyone has a road to find. It can take him or her a while to figure out the twists and turns but they will eventually make it.
As CEO of RJTinc, a computer company, the Forever Trust Charity, United Kingdoms Print, a publishing company, Sages of Essence and Living writers, blog pages, and his books, Tolson also speaks five languages aside from English. Spanish, Chinese, Greek, Korean, and Japanese are the other languages that he knows. He has played soccer on varsity and club levels in both his Connecticut and California colleges.
Having appeared nationally in newspapers and other multimedia, the author loves to promote literature. Tolson tries to inspire kids to follow their dream no matter how hard. He says if they do not give up, they will get there no matter how many dead ends they meet.
Zephyr the West Wind has been a hit not only throughout our school but through America. We have heard RJ Tolson, author of Zephyr, speak at our school once and also at Lincoln Middle School. Go to his website, RJ Tolson.com to see a picture of him at our school on the front page. His new book Hugh the Southern Flame is coming out soon.

Movie Review: Seas of Monsters
By Madison Wilson
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has action, drama, comedy, and excitement all in one movie. This film is based on the book series by Rick Riordan. The film returns to world of Percy Jackson. In this film Camp Half Blood is dying. In order to save Camp Half Blood, Percy and his friends must go on a dangerous quest to get the golden fleece.
The golden fleece can bring a person back from the dead or can restore an injured person or object back to its original state. If Percy and his friends don't find the fleece and bring it back in time, evil will rise and destroy the universe.
You should watch this movie because it is suspenseful and exciting, it will leave you at the edge of your seat. My recommendation is rent the movie, grab some popcorn, sit down, and watch! Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is PG 106 minutes. Starring: Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson. Directed by Thor Freudenthal
Once you have watched the movie and read the book! The entire Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan is available at in our school media center. The Sea of Monsters is an AR book for 9.0 points; BL 4.6.
